Luke 12:56… You Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky but why do you not know how to interpret the present time?

Which world do you live in? In Jesus’ day, people read the signs from the weather patterns and predicted what was coming. But, they did not know the day of their visitation because they had not diligently studied the scriptures. Where do you and I fit in that scenario? I remember, years ago, studying the tock market and investment in general. As hard as I tried I never felt like I had a handle on it. But, I can tell you, I studied diligently and I even pretended to buy stocks and watched them daily.

I have read some books lately that interpreted some chapters from the book of Ezekiel. Whether the interpretations are correct or not remains to be seen but I value the time the author has put in. Of all the prophetic books in the Bible I find Ezekiel to be one of the most difficult to read. For that reason, I have mostly avoided studying it. But… because of the books I have read, of late, I am feeling compelled to study Ezekiel and also the prophetic chapters in Daniel. I feel lost most of the time, but I felt lost studying the stock market as well. Yet, I studied it diligently in the hope of making some money. I will now shift my attentions to the spiritual world and focus on what the lord might be doing. I plan to study the chapters I have noted in conjunction with the whole Bible. Jesus said, “It is not for you to know the day nor the hour when I will return.” But we are also told that if we watch and pray we will not be caught unaware. So, I am not seeking to know the day nor the hour of our Lord’s return; but, what can we know? That, I want to find out. We have probably all heard, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know that matters.” In the world, that can be true to a point. In God’s kingdom it is critically essential. To proceed in the kingdom of God you must know God. Many mistakes have been made by men knowing rules but not discerning the love of God in the big picture. Men who knew, or thought they knew, rules killed Jesus because He did not fit their picture of God. I believe that is still happening today. If you want to know the Bible, know God. We can do that by listening. He is telling me, “Jump in.”
